Hello,
I have recently aquired a clarinet from a freind who no longer had use for it. He had purchased it for his son who decided the sax would be more to his liking. I am a guitarist and know little if anything about clarinets. I am hoping someone can tell me a little more about the instrument and possibly it's value.
The Clarinet was made by, Evette & Schaeffer. It is a master model, Modele Buffet Crampon. Serial number K8372. I don't know what key the clarinet is. Thanks in advance. Jay

A search on ebay for Evette and "master model" (active and completed auctions) should be your best guide for value. My estimate: $200-250 needing pads; $350-400 after overhaul.
It is a fairly common intermediate clarinet (one of the better ones), with some examples playing more like a pro model. Because there is some thought that these were "aborted" R13's, they can differ in important finishing touches like keywork and tone hole undercutting. This makes it harder to speak in generalities about Master Models. Each must therefore be evaluated individually and stand on its own merits - even more so than "regular production" clarinets.
