Thanks!

Every time I hear "Just a closer walk with Thee", words simply cannot describe how great I feel inside. It's not just his great sound engineer...Pete's in a class all by himself. It's because of him that I took up the clarinet. I've been listening to him for over 40 years. Just can't seem to get enough...I hope he live to be at least 110!!! He sure has brought a lot of joy into my life!

I’m also an avid Pete Fountain fan. Generally speaking, I like his live recordings best because they seem to rouse the greatest amount of emotion in me. He does some simply awesome technical work on some of these pieces and his jazz phrasing and improvisation just blows me away. Pete Fountain has been a major influence on my interest in clarinet.
Here are some of my favorites LPs:
Pete Fountain Day, Coral Records, CRL 757313
Pete Fountain at the Bateau Lounge, Coral Records, CRL 757314
Pete’s Place, Coral Records, CRL 57453
Mr. New Orleans meets Mr. Honky Tonk, Coral Records, CRL 757334
Pete Fountain’s Jazz Reunion, Jucu Records
Here are a couple of my favorite CDs:
Do You Know What It means to Miss New Orleans? Decca GRD-2-658 (Two CDs)
Pete Fountain “Live in Santa Monica” Hindsight Records HCD-617
Best regards,

Pete is the greatest. Last time I was in New Orleans I got to meet him in person. He asked me what song I liked the best. I said "Closer Walk". He did about a 20 minute version of it that was so fantastic I couldn't believe my ears. His drummer was beyond description, unfortunately I can't remember his name but he sat in front of the band and right next to Pete. Go Pete!!!
