This work is the longest and best sonata of Reger, monumental in clarinet repertoire. Phrases are generally long, requiring great endurance, especially in the slow movement. The ensemble is the greatest performance problem. |

Dedicated to Andreas Grabau. One of the great standard pieces of clarinet repertoire ... Beautiful melodic writing for the clarinetist and gratifying writing for the pianist. Nice ensemble relationship between clarinet and Piano. A very successful recital piece. |
