Vandoren Series 13 or Classic mpc?
Author: TonySwe

Hi good people!

This is my question: most of the Vandoren mpcs belong to their Classic series and are tuned for A=442 pitch used in European classical music. Their Series 13 mouthpieces are tuned for American clarinetists using A=440.
Most clarinetists seem to be using the Classic series mpcs, but wouldn't it be better to use the Series 13 mpcs if you're playing jazz and ethnic music? Is there a tuning problem using their Classic series mpsc for jazz/ethnic, any need to change the barrell? Not all of their mpcs are available in the 13 series.

Thanks for your help!

/ Tony
