 Ring Key Oboe Fingerings
Author: almancer

Hi, I'm new to this site, so I apologize if this topic has already been convered. I have a Linton oboe with a ring key system. Can you please tell me what the fingerings are for this instrument or direct me to a site with a listing. My understanding is that the ring key fingering system is different from the plateau fingering system. Thanks for your help,
-Alissa

The basic fingerings are exactly the same for both models, but it's the trill fingerings that will differ between the ring key and plateaux models - the plateaux models having the advantage as the tuning on trills is better.

The main difference is the Ab-Bb (or G#-A#) trill which you do by playing Ab (xxxG#|ooo) and trill the upper of the two side keys for RH finger 1 (that's the key that curls over the side G# touch).

The opinions I express are my own.
