I have a C Tenor sax (C-Melody) and I've always played its low C as concert Middle C. But now that I think of it, the C Tenor is only one whole step above the Bb Tenor. And if a Tenor is transposed one octave (plus a whole step) above concert pitch, then the C Melody should be transposed one octave above concert pitch. This would make the 2nd C (C2 on the C Melody horn) be the equivalent to Middle C. Does this make sense to anyone?
