I'm finding that my Howarth S2 English Thumb Plate Oboe is the ideal doubling up instrument with the Clarinet. It has a 'support & balance' point for the LH thumb (plate for Oboe/ ring for Clarinet) as well as being functional. And open rings siimilar to the Clarinet.
