Hi,
For those of you who need to buy gouged & shaped cane to make your reeds, do you usually buy them from local music shops? from local oboists/ reed-makers? or from somewhere else?

I get mine from Richard Craig. It's gouged/shaped/ & folded over. He sells it for $21.82c (bundle of 10 pieces) plus postage $7.73 when I got it from him last time (week ago)

I have had very good luck with seller "goreedfactory" on the ubiquitous internet auction site. Excellent cane, and extremely reasonable with respect to price.
In Korea, though fast and inexpensive shipping...

I buy from Capitol Cane, run by a poster here. Lots of selection.

I like The Reed Room, mostly because they do good work and are affordable.
