Dear friends and colleagues,

I posted about this back in June when I launched, but I wanted to once again make you aware of my podcast, the Candid Clarinetist. After almost 6 months of podcasting, I now have 22 full episodes and am recording and producing a new episode each week. Some former guests include Stephen Williamson, Michael Wayne, J. Lawrie Bloom, Ralph Skiano, Jonathan Gunn, Francois Kloc, and Gregory Raden, to name a few. If you are looking for some great interviews with useful information about all things music and clarinet, make sure to check it out, and subscribe on your favorite podcasting platform. More information can be found at http://candidclarinetistpodcast.com

Stay safe, friends!

Hi Paul,

I haven't done a full episode on that, but there is a lot of content on my podcast about that topic. The episode with Ralph Skiano covers some aspects of audition taking, and there are various others scattered across the episodes. I have given multiple masterclasses audition prep and strategies for audition taking. Perhaps that is what you are thinking of?

I recall a mind blowing conversation between two (younger) present members of symphonies. There was talk about how the stratagy changes drastically once you are a finalist and then need to exhibit more soloistic abilities that must be dogedly avoided in the initial rounds to proceed through.

Advice that many may benefit from.
