Hi, i was wondering if anyone else find the key cork on these clarinets a bit crappy. Also what kind of pads work best on these clarinets. I plan on using woven, felt or leather pads. Cork pads are too much work for me. Took me awhile to seal it on my buffet. Where should i get it also, ferrees, music medic or another pad distributer?

If you like skin pads, use ones with pressed felt discs instead of woven as they'll remain flat in the centre. Leather pads are easier to seat and will last much longer than skin pads, but use whichever you find most suitable.

As for key corks, use tech cork almost everywhere on Vitos as it's thin and hard wearing, but use thin ultrasuede or synthetic felt on open standing keys - thumb ring, RH rings, LH E/B and F/C levers and on the crow's foot.

If I am working on lets say 3 vito. Will 2 sheets of 3/64 natural cork for tennon work. 1 sheet of .5 .8 and 1mm tech cork. 1 bag of ultra-suede be enough? In addition, I heard from some people thin pads work well on noblet. Do you guys think it will work better on vito's. Im thinking of getting roopads for the last 3 pads on the bottom or should i just keep it all felt pads. Thanks chris for the info.

How big is the bag of ultrasuede? There should be enough in a single sheet of ultrasuede to do around 50 clarinets. You're best using 0.5mm tech cork almost throughout on Vitos. You will have enough sheet cork to redo the tenons on around 6-8 clarinets with.

Vitos should be pretty much the same as Noblets in terms of pads, though they will take standard thickness pads. If you want to do the lot in leather, they will last longer.
