Each of those mouthpieces has a larger tip opening- the 4C is about the same as a Vandoren 5RV, the 5C about the same as the 5RV Lyre, Lomax "3" facing or a Hite Premiere. I have many students using the 4C and it is perfectly fine as a beginner mouthpiece but as students progress they find it difficult to play with a wide dynamic range, response is often uneven and the general sound quality/tone is good at specific dynamic levels but tends to lack focus at louder dynamics and to lack richness at softer dynamics.
The 5C mouthpieces are a bit too resistant for my liking, I reface these for students to a facing similar to the Dadario Evolution mouthpiece (ie similar tip opening to 5RV Lyre, but longer facing that is more free blowing) and this improves them I believe, but they are never GREAT.
I have never even SEEN a 6C and 7C, I know they exist but must be on special order as they are never supplied with instruments and not in any shop I have ever visited. 99% of the 4Cs I've seen came as the stock mouthpiece with a student instrument.
