 Cadenza in Orpheus Overture
Author: Ed Lowry
Date:   2019-01-18 01:39

Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld overture has a short cadenza starting an measure 35, basically in two parts beginning with a low F with an arpeggio to high C (first half and High Bb (second half). Both halves end with a trilled top-line [F5].

My teacher thought that the second trill should go to F#, rather than G natural, but said she was far from sure about it. Does anyone with experience playing the piece have any thoughts about what's correct, or whether it might be an option for the player?
