Mysterious Grace note in Baermann op. 63
Author: Brian Peterson

Why is there a grace note B-flat at the end of both sections of the E flat major chord of the seventh exercise in the Baermann Op. 63? This is the old addition not the height addition page 27. It’s a question that I have always wondered and meant to ask.

Maybe to make it sound a bit more cadential or to break things up a bit?

My beef is with the last two measures of D minor within intervals of the Sixth. My edition (and I'd guess many) ends on a written "F," (rather than "D") with the sixteenth prior being a "G" (rather than perhaps "C#").
