Hey everyone. I am planning to buy an amati acl 241. I tried searchin on the net but couldnt find any other info. Does anyone know if this is a low pitched clarinet? Thanks for your help.

Amati ships their clarinet with different barrels (not that there were different barrels packed with every clarinet), depending on the destination country. So models for the European market might get a different barrel than one for the U.S. market. I am not sure whether there are different bodies, though.
Your best bet will be to contact Amati what exactly they're shipping to the UK (or wherever you live). Their email is amati@amati.cz and they have been quite responsive. Good luck.

Hi tictactus. thank you very much for your reply. is it the barrel changing the low pitch to high pitch or the other way round? so if i have a german Bb high pitch clarinet can this be changed to a low pitch one with a barrel? sorry if what ask sounds stupid but i am new to clarinet. many thanks.

I got an ACL-251 (plastic boehm in "C") and it was pitched at A=442 (continental European). For A=440 I had to pull the barrel say 2mm. I inquired about this at Amati's and they told me I could buy a replacement barrel of whatever size I wished (around 30$).
So, I assume in the UK you will get a 440Hz model, but I'd make sure at order time that you want it this or that way. And by all means, ask Amati if there are special order numbers for the various pitches.
