Does anybody know when the current edition of the Weissenborn was originally published? The drawings look pretty old (perhaps pre-1900?), but it's hard to tell what year they might indicate.

The tutor was written in the 19th century, I believe around 1880. Hope this helps!

My book is the 1941 version. I had no idea this was the first edition. Is that what you're saying? (The price on it is $4.00)

Julius Weissenborn was Mendelsohn's Bassoonist in the Leipzig Gewanthaus Orchestra.
