It just depends what you mean by 'an overhaul'.
Some customers come in asking for an overhaul when all the instrument needs is minor adjustments.
The term 'overhaul' to most technicians means to strip down, clean, revarnish toneholes as required, rectify mechanical problems, renew all pads plus springs, key & tenon corks as needed. $100 might cover the cost of the materials. Costs vary from repairer to repairer but I reckon a minimum of $500 (I am in UK & have converted from pounds) but the older the instrument generally the higher the cost unless it has been regularly maintained.
