Your oboe is a FREAK! LOL

I'm guessing that it must have been a special factory order in which the buyer specified the DM upper joint bore with an AK bell.

Since the serial numbers matched, that was the only possibility I could think of.

I have a Royal with DM bore (all 3 pieces). :-)

Does anyone know what the pros/cons or differences are between the DM bore and other Loree bores?

I got my Royale about 20 years ago. I’d been playing on a W+W before that and was really looking for a Marigaux 901. I’d tried various Howarths, and then the Royal came up and it just felt right in all respects.

I’ve always been curious about the bore though, so l’d be grateful for any insight.

Thanks to all who contribute to this forum.

Marc
