I was able to acquire a Selmer Signet but this is weird. S# is 10,XXX. First of all, wood looks much better than my son's(Signet100, his backup horn). "Selmer" and "Signet(Italic)" on the barrel, body and bell. This horn has two barrels. There are two metal rings on upper joint between upper tenon and register key tone hole. Design of left finger key(B,C key on lower joint) is better than signet 100 has. It's same design of most pro horns. I have not tried. It might need minor tweaking. It was delivered to me an hour ago. Any help on IDing this horn? Thanks in advance.

Two metal rings on upper joint sound like a repaired crack. That repair is commonly seen on older clarinets instead of pins.

You have one of the early ones. I don't know when Selmer started making Signet Specials, but my parents bought me #26,xxx brand new in 1955. Selmer made several changes to them over the years. Early ones had marked barrels. The number of metal reinforced tenons increased along the way. There were some changes made in some of the keys. Eventually the "100" appeared. I'm not sure which changes were improvments and which were made for other reasons.
The extra rings on the upper joint are surely due to a repaired crack.

You're right. I disassembled this horn last night and rings are for crack repair. I found something different from signet100. I couldn't find any USA mark while signet has. The early model came from Paris? Not sure. Spring is blue(seen on pro model). Wood quality is super. This is a quality horn.
