 Feeler gauges
Author: igalkov

Hello! I’m wonder which feeler gauges are suitable for measuring mouthpieces other than a regular Bb clarinet? I’m using a set which I’ve found to be a “standard” for Bb (0.015, 0.10, 0.24, 0.34), but wish to experiment with a Bass and Eb, as well as saxophone mouthpieces. Thanks in advance!

I think you mean .0015, .010, .024, and .034 inches. My set also adds a .050 for larger mouthpieces. As I understand it, these are the sizes in the Erick Brand system. Others might have slightly different sizes, and add additional sizes to these.

I did a review of feeler gauge systems in the beginning of this video.
