Well, I was reading the Biography of James Brown by James McBride.
At one point the author went to visit Pee Wee Ellis, one of the Sax Players in James Browns Band,.
Pee Wee Ellis played with him for years and was responsible for writing many of James Browns Tunes.
On Mr Ellis's Music Stand he had a copy of Wohlfahrt's 60 Studies Op. 45
The author commented on it and Mr. Ellis replied " I got a Concert with Yusef Lateef coming up in Paris. I gotta practice."

Now I play out of this book myself ....wonder if I have a future in Soul Music?;)

Aretha Franklin said that James Brown was a pioneer. On account of him we were known as Negroes one night and when we woke up the next morning we were known as Black. James Brown changed that forever which is to his credit.

Hi,
But there is another thing to consider.
I think GBK and I both used the Arban Book with our woodwind students. So, it is not a big stretch to used a violin book on sax at all. The tessitura for Arban lies all around the break for clarinetists where there are all sorts of problems to be fixed.
I even play Rose on sax (with a few register changes for some of the chalumeau notes, of course).

Love the Wohlfahrt books
Would be my choice if I could only bring a few books on the proverbial Desert Island
