Also, it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the bulletin board posting rules to avoid any future reminders from us. Although 99% of the time the bulletin board runs very smoothly, we would rather not contact you personally to remind you of any infractions.

Also, concerning the clickable links, may I suggest that everyone push "Preview" to check that the link is clickable.
Recently, I had to go through 3 different formats before the link became clickable. (To try a different format or to check for typing errors, simply click the "back arrow" to return to your original posting format page.)
I'm still having trouble with the "Bold" setting. When I follow the directions using the letter "b" with [] brackets before and after the single word I want to have in bold, "all" words following it are in bold. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Hi Dan,
To end any formatting, you must include a preceeding forward slash / in the ending brackets.
So, you'd need /b inside the [ ] after whatever word you wanted to bold.
(Hope this makes sense)
[b]Bold Words[/b] not bold words.

Is there a way to easily quote a post in a thread this is not the most recent one. For example, if I hit "Reply to message" on Fuzzy's contribution above and then hit "Quote" it puts Dan's most recent post into my new one instead of Fuzzy's. I'm pretty sure I've seen people do this successfully many times.

I'm not sure if this will help answer your question...
but one way you can do it is to use the
[ quote] <paste whatever you'd like to quote here> [ /quote]
tags to insert a quote into your conversation. (to make it display
properly in this response to you, I added spaces in the brackets -
you wouldn't want those spaces in the real quote tags).
As example, here's a quote pasted from the HELP file GBK linked to:

Haha! Good question, Dan! I've done it both ways myself. The quote tag gives it that nifty smaller font...some bboards also allow you to put a [quote=] (where the equals is followed by the username of the person you're quoting) - though it didn't work for me in tests here.
I'm undecided on whether I like to use the quote tag myself - I think it just depends on exactly what/whom I'm quoting - how much attention I want to attract to the quote, etc. (Or whether I even remember that the tag is there to use!)

It would be nice if this function would just quote the actual post I hit reply on. I guess that's just wishful thinking at this point. Thanks for the bit of additional info though, Fuzzy.

I confess this and your original post to this thread confuse me. If I have your last post open and I click on Reply, I get a blank reply screen. Once in that screen, when I click Quote at the bottom, I get your post quoted with '> ' preceding each line. I do have to trim it down to what I think is needed, but it isn't a quote from some post before yours. Can you (re?)clarify what the problem is with the Quote link?

When I click the "Reply to message" link and go to the input area, there's a "Quote button". It quotes the message and you can go on and add your comments.

That's intersting. When I click "reply to message" (to say, nellsonic's original post), and then click QUOTE, it only quotes your most recent post...not nellsonic's post of which I had clicked "reply to message" in.
It's my understanding that nellsonic experiences the same thing.
Am I misunderstanding the process, or are my results different from yours?

Nellsonic, are you using threaded or flat view? Could this be a difference in the way the reading pane looks between the two views? If you're using flat view, are you clicking on <Reply to message> at the bottom right of the window you want to quote?

Thanks for solving the mystery! When I view in the flat view (which has always been the default for me, and I never even noticed there was a different view available), the problem shows up as nellsonic had posted.
However, once I changed to "Threaded View" - the website responds as both you and Mark described.
