I'm back to playing chamber music with two or three other people; not 6 feet apart but twice that. The sound doesn't blend as well. Attacks are more imprecise, but we still interact well and it makes for an interesting acoustic change. What have been your impressions?

We did socially distanced singing in our street and it was really difficult. There were instruments at intervals down the street but they all seemed to be at different places in the music and so were all the singers. It was odd, because it seemed as though it ought to work in principle, but in practice is was really very challenging.

Personally I wouldn't play with anybody until I get the vaccine, but that's not your question. Though 12 feet apart, are you facing each other (ie. in a circle, triangle, whatever?)?
Reason is I would occasionally rehearse my H.S. jazz band in a circle. They could hear each other much better so it was tighter. Then again, may not make as much of a difference with clarinets.
