 Double Sharp

On the clarinet, does a double sharp go up a half-step? So would a F double sharp be G?? please e-mail me. it's urgent.

the Double sharp makes the note after it go up 2 1/2 steps (two half steps). You do not take the key signature into account - example, key of G (1 sharp F#) if there is an F double sharp, the F would go up 2 half steps to G. If there were not an F# in the Key signature, it would not make a difference at all (still played a G) - that is important to remember.
