I'm just a beginning clarinetist, but my wife plays an Evette. (Actually, so do I, but that's amnother Evette story.) Our clarinet repair person told us that, initially, Buffet made the Evette in Germany. These models were dogs, according to him and other comments I read on this page. Well below the usual Buffet standard. To re-establish the instrument's reputation, they began manufacturing Evettes in France. The Evette Master model (my wife's model) is a very decent instrument. No quite an R-13 but good, nevertheless.
Presently Buffet produces their intermediate models under the Evette name. They are the E-11, E-12 and the new E-13. I play an E-11, which is manufactured in Germany (again!). I'm not sure where the E-12 and E-13 are manufactured. Hope this answers your question.
