Gleichweit has mouthpieces made of plastic, hard rubber, and premium hard rubber. Cost is €199.00 for plastic and up to €369.00 for premium hard rubber.

ESM produces good plastic mouthpieces.

AW Woodwinds produces good plastic mouthpieces.

So materials matter, but not as much as design, I think.

As for Juno J5, I think they mention soft reeds in relation to weak beginner embouchures. I guess matured clarinetists will need stronger reeds.
