This is different to what happens in Canada with Fed/Ex.
Item arrives via Fed/Ex and then around 1-2 months later an invoice shows up in the mail billing for brokerage fees in the neighbourhood of $55-$75. Often the invoices are ill-defined and don't indicate what the item or shipment was.
These invoices were a constant headache at my office (before I retired) because as one of the shipping reconciliation staff who had to sign off on courier bills, it was difficult to track down which staff or department had order something related to the invoice. In some instances, we had staff having personal shipments sent to our office, and then the invoices would show up under our business name and address.
