I'm having my last wisdom tooth extracted tomorrow morning. It isn't impacted. But it has a large filling in it with decay underneath the filling and the dentist understandably doesn't want to repair the decay.
Can anyone tell me from experience how soon after a simple extraction I can expect to be able to play? I had two taken out a couple of years ago, but I can't remember if I was instructed to lay off for a week or not. I will, of course, ask the surgeon this tomorrow morning, but it would be useful to know sooner because if I can't play Wednesday or Thursday, I may want to get a sub to play Shostakovich 9th on Friday.
I don't know why this only occurred to me tonight.
