The V12 reeds are cut to a different style than the blue box reeds.
They have a thicker blank, a slightly different width at the butt end and also a different shape of curve and rather thicker tip.
What reed works best is a combination of the reed and the mouthpiece it is fitted too. So your mouthpiece may be more suited to the V12 style than the traditional blue box reeds.
Often the V12 works best with longer / closer lays, but in the end it's just trial and error.
