Ok, the main issue in the synthetic reed is the material itself (which I believe is the more interesting comparison over time than the size and shape......but I won't go there). I firmly believe that the material and the size and shape work in a coordinated manner to produce a final result. For example, the Signature Clarinet reeds just never worked for me at all, period, full stop. But the same material then transposed to the width and cut of the European Signature (or the Signature Soprano Sax reed) works miracles!


I also agree with 'donald.' I don't find ANY deleterious affects associated with the wider stance of the European Signature reed. When I was first recommended to try them I was using the Vandoren M/O ligature......that DOESN'T work. But other than that, they just LOOK wonky.
