 Ligatures

So I own a vandoren optimum ligature and I love it but I wanted to know the difference between the optimum and the vandoren leather lig. I love the look of the leather one so if the differences are favorable then I might get one. Thanks :)

Both have the same 3 interchangeable plates. But for the leather one, it's attached by velcro. I haven't messed with mine a lot, but for those who like to change the pressure plates a lot, I've heard from them that the pressure plates do not stick onto the ligature after an extended period of time.

Generally leather ligs give you a warmer, rounder sound than the metal ones. I haven't used the optimum myself so I wouldn't know. But I would assume so.

You have to try it to know how it works for you not for someone else.
