Let me explain a little bit here.

For the bass buffet mouthpiece, I heard the bass clarinetist from Boston symphony orchestra use a German brand mouthpiece

which also make the mouthpiece for buffet. So actually it's not a bad one. For me, B44 is still quite open and the Selmer C* is too close, and seems the Buffet stock mp is in the middle, thou I didn't really measure it.

For the soprano clarinet buffet mp, I think the material is not good as vandoren as the timber produced is not so good, but as a large opening mouthpiece , I like it more than the B40. Just feel better on the buffet mp.

I don't know how to make a B40 work for me seriously. I use something close like M15 and M13lyre.

BTW, I used to play on Hawkins B model for a year. It's good too. I can't get that sonority from the Vandys.
