 Martin Frost - Concerto Fantastique

Hi!

Yesterday i attended a concert with Malmo Symphony Orchestra where Martin Frost played a newly written piece by swedish composer Rolf Martinsson called "Concerto Fantastique".
This is maybe unheard of so far from modern composers, its really fresh and brilliant written!! I loved it!!

Martin have had some suggestions here and there, and you could really tell.
double, even perhaps triple tounging (really fast any way.), circular breathing, singing while playing, and some really excitingly smooth and fast fingers in the opening and closing of the piece. also there is a really long note in the middle, so beautiful!!

well, i was totaly amazed and just thought i'd share it with you guys. if you have the chance to go and hear this piece, i just want to say i strongly recommend you to do so!! (Martin said that it was "the new Nielsen", so i guess he will play it a lot in the future!!)

Regards
Niclas

Pelo, thanks for your posting, however, there is no link to listen to.....so, in case you haven't heard this before, here is FOTBB by Martin Frost that is quite entertaining.......

sorry, they did a recording, so it might be out in the shops soon, i dont know.
it was forbidden to take pictures or record in the concert so i couldn't do that, i thought i just mention it as a tip if anyone was thinking about if to go and hear it. :)

the recording of Frost and Ernman is really funny, haven't heard it before. thank you. :)

There was a post a while ago with a great video of Martin Frost demonstrating his new "singing while playing and cirular breathing" technique. The video is quite long, but has some fantastic performances in it, also it's not in English nor subtitled.

The original thread can be found here
