Can't answer the question, but I'm pretty sure his countryman Gervase de Peyer lived and performed recitals regularly up here in my area (Northern Virginia) for a while. In fact one of my few regrets in life is that I never went out to hear de Peyer play while he was here.
Hornist and fellow Englishman Barry Tuckwell also lived around here (probably in Maryland) and used to conduct the Maryland Symphony in Hagerstown. Must be something about the mid-Atlantic US that draws English players here....
