I think LA is the capitol of the "leave early beat the traffic" brigade.
They received justice in '82 when the Dodgers were losing the first game in the World Series by 3 runs in the botton of the ninth...two out, the count 3/2 and Kirk Gibson homers into immortality!
There were about 10,000 fans ot in the parking lots...their moans of regret at missing the historic moment were almost as loud as the celebration inside the park!
