Okay, I declare the quiz ended and here is the solution:

#1 is a metal Rauber/Montreux (my "Swiss Army Clarinet") with a Mitchell Lurie Premium #2 mouthpiece and a ML #3.5 (regular) reed and a Rovner Dark ligature. The keys are not silver, I guess they're either chromed or nickel. The pads are home-made EVA "foam rubber" pads. I was wearing a blue sweater with a grease spot and blue jeans.

#2 is - the very same setup, including reed and all. Sorry to fool you. [tongue]

The only difference between #1 and #2 is that in #1 my laptop (whose built-in mic I used) sat on the sofa while I was playing standing and in #2 I was sitting and the laptop was on the table.

My observation:
- We see and hear a lot of things that we want to see and hear. Expectations might skew our observations. Many were assuming two different setups, and many heard them.
- Recording setup is crucial. No wonder a lot of time is spent in studios for post-recording treatment.
- Metal doesn't necessarily sound different than wood or hard rubber. It can be confused with other materials, and I'd expect the same with hard rubber or plastic.
- I don't like playing while sitting. I prefer standing if possible.

Thank you all for participating. It was fun, wasn't it?
