Author: thegreatestmusician

Hi, I'm trying to find a recording of Allegro Molto by Schubert, and Divertimento in Bb by Mozart/Bellison. Does anybody have a link where I can download the music?

Illegally or legit? i dont' really condone illegal downloading unless it is to try out and compare music before purchasing.... otherwise it is complete hypocracy for musicians to download music.

ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL. There are a number of online places you can sample a few LEGAL short clips to help you make your choices.

I think...
Real artists are people that aren't doing music for the money.
I'm 100% pro-illegal download for personnal use.

Go to www.classicalarchives.com. For $20/year, you have unlimited downloads of thousands and thousands of classical pieces. These are compositions off copyright that have been provided by up-and-coming artists. (NB: They don't have anything there illegally.)

Mark... I don't believe it is illegal to download music for free in Canada but I could be wrong.

EDIT: I can't spell I guess, so I fixed some errors.

Downloading copyrighted music without permission is as illegal in Canada as it is in just about any other country. Canada is a signatory to the Berne convention.

Even if it is illegal it is not punishable the same way it is in the states.

I have membership to classicalarchives.com but they don't have the pieces I mentioned.

Nope, Canadian courts have ruled that it is legal to download music, no matter what the copyright status, for personal use.

Otherwise you might try allofmp3.com

Not sure of its legality where you are, but in Australia, it seems it is legal.

You're right. There are a few strings attached:

http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/C-42/230711.html#rid-230714

section 80. Section 82 shows that all blank recording media in Canada has a tariff attached.

Try itunes. I have bought music from there countless times for MUCH cheaper than I would in a store. And they have great recordings. If not, try bostonrecords.com. They have a lot of terrific recordings.
