You didn't tell us what grade you are in, but here are some ideas that may help you get started.
Assuming you are in high school, perhaps your Guidance Dept. (that's what they call it in Ontario) can provide you with career information.
Interviews are another good, and legitimate, way to gather information. If your school has a Music teacher, you could ask him/her for an interview and perhaps some of the professional musicians who visit this site would volunteer to be "interviewed" via email.
Make a list of questions first so that you will elicit the information you need.
Another good source of career information is your local public library.
On the internet you could look up famous musicians and study their biographies for ideas.
