master's thesis

Author: clarinetmama  Date:   2003-03-29 04:38 I just wanted to come up for air and say, "Hello." I have been working on my Master's thesis like a crazy woman so that I can graduate in May and have been away from this board. I am happy to report I will be done next week. I just finished typing my 75th page this afternoon. Just a little research needs to be done in my hometown. My parents have been away on a trip for the past 6 weeks and I have been waiting for them to get home as I have a few questions only they can answer. My dad was a military clarinetist from 1953-1955. So I have used him as a case study and follow his life from the time he was born (1932), began playing (1942) and discuss early band programs and the Army band program. Anyone else out there do a thesis, and what was the topic. I must say I though this would be awful to do, but once I "found my voice" it was quite fun. And yes, I will graduate on May 11 with a 4.0 GPA. Glad to be back, Jean
