I don't say so in that post, but one of the noticeable characteristics of their playing was the accompanying of the romantic gesturing of their performance style by similar physical gesturing. I'd go so far as to suggest that it was one of the reasons why they found it difficult to change.
BTW, when Martin writes: "Their audience, the people who buy tickets love it," he can of course only be speaking for himself -- plus perhaps one or two other people of his acquaintance, though I doubt even that.
