Klarinet Archive - Posting 000174.txt from 2010/11

Subj: [kl] Profofiev - Romeo & Juliet No. 2

Playing Prokofiev's second R&J suite. There's a note written two measures
before rehearsal #37 - a low C# - which is not on my instrument.

Either basset clarinets in Bb were available in Russia at the time this was
written, or it's a goof. Since I don't have a basset clarinet in Bb
available to me, I vote goof.

Any idea what this should be? I'm prognosticating E natural because of the
progression, but would rather not be "strong and wrong!" at the first
rehearsal to confirm.

Thanks in advance,

kjf
