"Blog" means to write a ongoing commentary about some topic and to post
your commentary on your web page for other people to read. I believe
the word is a contraction of "binary log" as in keeping a log of your
thoughts and concerns on a computer.

It's similar to a weekly or daily column in a newspaper or magazine,
except it's published on the Internet. Some bloggers have become
popular and are now 'stars' of the medium. A few political
mini-scandals began when a "blogger" did some investigative reporting
and published his or her thoughts.
