Sylvia, normally Mark Charette (who manages this list) likes to deal
with technical problems himself, and hence the other subscribers are
reluctant to interfere.

But since Mark is in Tokyo right now, and apparently not near a
keyboard, here are two suggestions --- BOTH of which involve the
'confirm email' to which you must respond AFTER you have sent the
original 'unsubscribe message' (which is described at the bottom of
every Klarinet email that you are receiving):

(1) you must unsubscribe _from_ the same email address which you used to
subscribe. If you send your unsubscribe message from a different email
address, Klarinet's software will become confused.

(2) When the Klarinet software receives your unsubscribe request, it
will email a 'confirm request' to you. You must also reply to this
'confirm request'. (This is how Klarinet protects its subscribers from
pranksters who try to unsubscribe someone other than themselves.) As
someone has already posted, if you have asked your browser to ignore
messages that are 'suspicious', and since your browser probably doesn't
recognize the special email address that Klarinet uses for
unsubscribing, you'll never see the request and hence you'll never
respond to it and hence you'll remain subscribed to Klarinet forever.

In fact, if you have a separate folder for spams, you may find a number
of 'confirm requests' already waiting there for you.

When you've responded to the 'confirm request', you will receive a final
"Good-bye from Klarinet" email. Until you receive this 'good-bye'
email, you're still subscribed to Klarinet.
