I have no knowledge of Lester Young playing on plastic reeds.
I *do* have knowledge that it can be successfully done, at least on tenor.
Ernie Watts has played nothing but plastic reeds for years, and IMHO sounds
great.
I know a number of clarinet players who use Fibrecell or Legere exclusively,
and sound just fine.
Alas, I wish I were one of them. I find myself limited to cane, at great
cost and expense (time, if not money).
