My own opinion is that we should, sequentially, explore all interesting
contexts, inasfar as we can determine them.

In the case of Wagner, not all of the contexts have been considered. The
context 'Wagner as an antisemite' and 'Wagner as a protonazi' have had
consideration over and above other contexts, like 'Wagner as a Schopenhauer
disciple', or 'Wagner as a revolutionary'.

Which is why Magee's book is interesting.
