Of the possible bad consequences of leaving a clarinet assembled on a stand
instead of storing it disassembled in a case, I can attest to this one from
personal experience. I do tend, out of laziness mostly, to leave my
clarinet(s) on a stand when I stop practicing (I'm always gonna come back to
it later) and I have had problems with compressed and glazed corks as a
result. I now make myself disassemble the instruments *most* of the time
:-).
