Subj: [kl] Basset clarinets, bassethorns

Thing is, there is a bassethorn in F, and there was a bassethorn in G.

We could have called Stadler's instruments 'bassethorns in A and Bb', but
there are already well-established clarinets in those keys.

So we coined the names, 'basset clarinet in A' and 'basset clarinet in Bb',
the word 'basset' signifying the low C extension, as on the bassethorns.

And, come on, it doesn't matter what you *call* things.
