Adam, you are presenting the wrong ideas about what happens in a wind
instrument.

I suggest (strongly) that you read Arthur Benade "Horns, Strigs, and
Harmony" --- which is only 260 pages in large print, and it is easy
reading, and it is the classic starting point for studying musical
physics.

As one example --- your opening statement misses the point completely,
and several of us have already commented to you that it is grossly
misleading:
