Although I have "heard" the virtues of cocobolo in instruments made by
Stephen Fox, I have never been tempted to work with it due to the highly
toxic oils in the wood.

Hammerschmidt advertises that they will make clarinets from either =
cocobolo or grenadilla on their website. I play a cocobolo wood =
mouthpiece and have no problem with "toxic oil". My barrels and bells =
are cocobolo too.
