 It is correct that there is no duty when importing US goods into Canada.
 However, such goods *are* subject to the same sales taxes that would
 have applied had the goods been purchased in Canada.  On top of this,
 the Canadian postal service charges a $5.00 administration fee.
 However, in my experience, many small shipments do make it through
 without being stopped at Customs, while others of a similar size and
 value (even shipped from the same place) are stopped and have the taxes
 charged; it's very inconsistent.
 
 Also, while I'm not sure of all the comlexities of the rules, I believe
 it's the country of manufacture that matters; I once got nailed for duty
 on a pair of boots purchased and shipped from a US company because the
 boots had been manufactured in China.
