The orchestra that my wife and I play in hires a technician to record our concerts. He does a poor job. Other than balance problems, the woodwinds, especially the flutes come out sounding weak and warbly.

We have complained, and the answer came back to us - what do you recommend.

It seems to us that the problem is in the microphones. I haven't yet been able to find out what equipment he does use.

Who has recomendations for microphones that will do a good job recording woodwinds, especially flutes? Ben Maas, are you out there? Help!
